KITCHEN REPLACEMENTS

The kitchen replacement programme for the financial year 2009/2010 has now been published and the following streets in the Forres Tenants Forum area will have their kitchens replaced between April 2009 and March 2010

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Forres Area Tenants Forum held their Annual General Meeting at 1030am on Friday 23^rd January 2009 in the Town Hall Forres.

The meeting was attended by tenants from Forres and villages in the area. Members of the Moray Tenants Core Group and members of the Northern Lights Regional Network. 

The speaker was Graeme Davidson from the Moray Council Housing Department  Graeme explained to the audience how the council spent the tenants rent money in detail and answered questions on a wide range of housing matters.

The chairperson, Angela Sutherland then gave the Chairpersons address and a rundown on what the Tenants Forum had accomplished during the year.  The Secretary, Heather Anderson reported from the secretary’s perspective on the work members of the Forum had carried out for tenant’s outwith moray.  The Treasurer, Robert Amos then presented the Forum’s accounts to the members.

Graeme Davidson then took the chair when the committee stood down and conducted the elections of the new committee.  The new committee are:

The meeting was closed by the newly elected Chairperson. Some of the points raised by the Chairperson were the lack of support for the Forum and wanted to know if holding the meeting on a different day or at a different time would increase the number of tenant attending their monthly meeting which is currently held on the second Friday of every month at 1030am.  She also spoke of the £28,000.00 Environmental Fund the Forum receives from the council to carry out work to enhance the lives of the tenants of the Forres area.  Finding projects was difficult to find without the help of the tenants.

The meeting closed at 1230pm.
